The World's Smallest Micronation

Established in 1967, the Principality of Sealand is a former World War II Maunsell Sea Fort in the North Sea 10 km (six miles) off the coast of Suffolk, England.

E Mare Libertas
I love the story of the establishment of Sealand as a micronation. My interest in radio grew from studying the works of the original radio pirates of Radio Caroline and Radio Nova.

Reading Prince Michael of Sealand's book "Holding The Fort", it reminds me of stories told by an old Dutch neighbour Bill, who close friend of my late father. He worked as an Engineer on Radio Caroline and told of stories on the ship which have never been accurately reported, even with the fictional depiction of the station in comedy movies. Life on board Caroline was rough and Prince Michael's stories on board the fort of Sealand matches the stories I was told by Bill.
Is my Knighthood real?
Is Sealand real?

I'm proud to say I own deeds and property of the fort. Sealand was founded as a sovereign Principality in 1967 in international waters, seven miles off the eastern shores of Britain. The history of Sealand is a story of a struggle for liberty. Roy Bates and Prince Michael fought the laws outside of British waters with their pirate stations and occupancy of the fort.
Arise Sir Justin
The Knights of the Sovereign Military Order of Sealand was established to defend the Principality should it come under threat or attack. It was originally formed by Prince Roy and Prince Michael of Sealand after the invasion of 1978. The Order was made up of a group of select individuals with noble titles that could be called upon to defend our sovereign nation should such a situation arise again.

I'm proud to own deeds in Sealand and to have the honor bestowed on me as Sir Justin Dawson OMS of Sealand.
